Doughnut Listeria Recall

A Listeria recall includes 2 million cases of doughnuts, fritters, and other baked goods sold in late 2024. Some of the recalled items were sold at Dunkin’ locations. Although the contaminated products have not been on the market for weeks, symptoms of a Listeria infection can sometimes take as long as 70 days to develop.

The recall was issued by FGF Brands of Brownsburg, IN on January 7, 2025, but there was no press release. On February 5, 2025, the recall was upgraded reflecting an increased level of danger the products posed. The recall, which was completed in early January, included filled and frosted doughnuts, cinnamon sticks, French crullers, and fritters, produced before Dec. 13, 2024.

According to a statement on FGF’s website:

  • No FGF doughnuts currently or recently for sale are affected by the recall.
  • The recall was a precautionary measure based on non-product-related findings at one of the company’s U.S. donut facilities.
  • No donuts or food contact surfaces ever tested positive for Listeria.
  • The recall only included products sold in the U.S.
