Daily Veggies Enoki Mushrooms Recalled for Listeria

New Age International Inc. of Brooklyn, NY has issued a Listeria recall for Daily Veggies enoki mushrooms. Consumers who have purchased these mushrooms, imported from Korea, should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

At the time of the recall, no il,nesses had bee reported.

Daily Veggies Enoki Mushroom Lisreria Recall

The recalled enoki mushrooms were distributed to stores in a number of states. They have the following product info:

  • Daily Veggies brand name
  • Clear plastic packages
  • Net Wt. 200g (7.05oz)
  • UPC code 8809159458890
  • All lots are included

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture discovered the problem after samples collected from a store in West Virginia on January 14, 2025, were tested. Results revealed the presence of Listeria Monocytogenes in some of the packages.

Previous Recall

This is not the first time New Age has issued an enoki mushroom Listeria recall. These mushrooms were recalled in December 2024.

Symptoms of a Listeria Infection

Symptoms of a Listeria infection, called listeriosis, usually appear within 24 hours of exposure but sometimes it can take as long as 70 days for them to develop. They include:

  • High fever
  • Severe headache
  • Stiff neck
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea

Pregnant women can suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth even if they only experience mild flu-like symptoms.
