A Yu Shang Food meat and poultry Listeria recall includes ready-to-eat products sold nationwide. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Listeria can cause severe illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.
Yu Shang Listeria Recall
The recalled products were sold nationwide. The problem was discovered through routine testing by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA FSIS).
Produced from October 21 to October 27, 2024, the recalled, ready-to-eat meat and poultry items have “use by” dates ranging from 21-AUG-2025 through 27-AUG-2025. The establishment number “P-46684” or “EST. M46684” appears inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The products included in the recall are:
- Yushang Brand Cooked Chicken, 20 oz, Vacuum Pack
- Seasoned Pork Hock, 20 oz
- Japanese Chashu Pork Belly, 16 oz, Vacuum Pack
- Braised Pork Belly in Brown Sauce, 16 oz
- Yushang Brand Cooked Pork Hock, 1.4 lbs
- Chinese Brand Spicy Chicken Feet, 8 oz
- Bazhen Seasoned Whole Chicken, 20 oz
- Braised Beef Shank, 16 oz
- Seasoned Pork Tongues, 12 oz
Listeria Symptoms
Symptoms of a Listeria infection usually appear within 24 hours of exposure but can sometimes take as long as 70 days to develop. They include:
- Severe headache
- Stiff neck
- High fever
- Muscle stiffness
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
Pregnant women can suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth even if they only experience mild flu-like symptoms.
