Nutramigen infant formula has been recalled for potential Cronobacter contamination. Nutramigen Powder is a specialty infant formula for infants with cows milk allergies. Consumers who have purchased this product should not feed it to their babies as Cronobacter causes severe illness and death among infants.

After being informed of the “possibility of contamination with Cronobacter sakazakii in product sampled outside the U.S.,” Reckitt/Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN), issued a Nutramigen recall for on December 31 for the following products:
Nurtamigen Powder
- 12.6-oz and 19.8-oz cans
- UPC 300871239418 or 300871239456
- “Use By Date” of “1 Jan 2025”
- Product batches – ZL3FRW, ZL3FPE, ZL3FXJ, ZL3FQD, ZL3FMH, ZL3FHG
In the recall notice, the company stated that its tested all products before releasing them for sale and none was positive for Cronobacter. It also stated that it was unaware of any illnesses associated with the product.
