Consumers should immediately stop using DHZJM Baby Loungers because they pose risk of suffocation, entrapment, and falls, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warns. At least one infant death has been reported.
The loungers were produced by Fuzhou Kanouka Xinxijishu Co. Ltd, of China, doing business as Youlike Baby Store and sold on Amazon.com by YouLIke Baby Store, SUNFLOWER SHOP, Altor Enterprises LLC, Infgreate, SooZon, Humorous Egg, KMOVEON, and Amazon Export Sales LLC from January 2020 through November 2023 at prices ranging for $17 to $49.
The products violate Infant-sleep-product federal safety regulations because:
- They don’t have a stand for stability
- The sides are shorter than the minimum height required to secure an infant
- The sleeping pad exceeds the maximum limit posing a suffocation hazard
- An opening at the foot of the lounger poses a risk of falls and entrapment
- The packages lack required tracking label
The CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to Fuzhou Kanouka Xinxijishu Co., but the company would not agrere to “an acceptable recall,” according to the CPSC.
