An investigation is underway at the DoubleTree Hotel in northwest Houston after the tragic drowning death of an eight-year-old girl this weekend. The young girl, identified by her family as Aliyah Lynette Jaico, had been swimming in the lazy river-style pool with her family. After reviewing security footage, a Texas search and rescue crew saw Aliyah enter the pool, but she did not resurface. Investigators drained the pool and made the devastating discovery that Aliyah had been pulled 20 feet into a malfunctioning pipe. Officials say the pipe appeared to be malfunctioning because it was sucking in water instead of pushing it out.
The hotel pool has been temporarily closed. According to an investigation by KTRK-TV, the Houston Health Department’s inspection reports show multiple violations at the hotel.

Hotel Pool Drowning Lawsuit Information
The loss of a child is a devastating experience no family should face. If your family recently lost a child in a drowning accident at a hotel, you may have the right to sue the wrongdoers who caused your child’s death. An experienced swimming pool accident lawyer will help you navigate the legal system, allowing you to focus on supporting your family.
