ALB Flavor Cinnamon Powder Recalled for Elevated Lead Level
ALB Flavor brand cinnamon powder has been recalled for elevated lead. The recalled product was distributed to retailers in New York, Connecticut, Michigan, and Massachusetts, between December 15, 2022, and May 13, 2024. Consumers who have purchased this product should not consume it as lead poisoning can cause permanent damage to the nervous system.
The problem was discovered through testing by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES).
The recalled product was:
- Sold in a plastic bag inside a brown carton with a net weight of 100 grams.

- Distributed to retailers in the New York City area between 12/01/2023 and 05/15/2024.
- Spice Class brand ground cinnamon sold in 7-oz and 11-oz PET jars
- Expiration date: 12/2026
