Victor dog food has been recalled for Salmonella, consumers who have this product at home should not use it. Contaminated dog food can cause illness in pets who eat it and humans who handle it.
Mid America Pet Food, Mount Pleasant, Texas, issued the recall for Victor Super Premium Dog Food, Hi-Pro Plus produced at its Mount Pleasant facility on September 3 after a sample test conducted by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture product was positive for Salmonella. At that time, the company stated it was not aware of any illnesses associated with the product.
Salmonella Symptoms
Symptoms of a Salmonella infection include nausea, fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Usually, these symptoms appear within six to 72 hours of exposure.
