McHenry County health officials are investigating a food poisoning outbreak at D.C. Cobb’s restaurant that has sickened at least 13 people. Anyone who recently ate at the restaurant, located at 1204 North Green Street in McHenry, and is suffering severe gastrointestinal symptoms should see a doctor.
The health department is asking all customers who ate at the restaurant between August 29 and September 13 to complete a survey that will help them determine the source of the illnesses. “We are asking individuals who ate at D.C. Cobbs in McHenry to complete this survey whether you became ill or not. The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and includes questions about symptoms, illness onset, doctor’s visits, and foods eaten from the restaurant. This information will help us to try and understand what happened to cause illnesses,” a health department news release stated. All of the information collected is kept confidential and HIPAA compliant, it said.
