Bagged Salad Listeria Recall Includes Dole, Kroger. Giant and Marketside

Dole Fresh Vegetables issued the bagged salad Listeria recall after the problem was discovered during random sample testing by the Department of Agriculture in Georgia. At the time of the recall, the company was not aware of any illnesses.

Symptoms of a Listeria infection include high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, muscle aches, confusion, and loss of balance. Sometimes these symptoms are preceded by diarrhea, abdominal pain, or other gastrointestinal symptoms.

Symptoms of a Listeria infection usually develop within two weeks of exposure but can sometimes take as long as 70 days to develop. Consumers who ate these products before the recall should monitor themselves for symptoms and see a doctor if they develop.
