Alma House Explosion Leaves 1 Dead in Allegany County, NY

A natural gas leak is the suspected source of an October 2 house explosion in Alma, NY that left one person dead, according to local authorities. Emergency responders were called to the scene on County Route 18 around 12:15 p.m. When they arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames. Killed in the blast was Dan Michael Church, 71, who was home alone at the time.
