One woman is dead and a man is seriously injured after a house explosion in Greenwood Township in St. Louis County, Minnesota. Eva and Michael Gramse, both 72, were inside the house, located near the 1700 block of Everett Bay Road on Lake Vermillion, when it exploded around 9:30 a.m. on October 27.
When first responders arrived, they found Michael in the yard with serious injuries, according to a report from KBJR. He was airlifted to Essentia-St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. Eva’s remains were later found inside the home, which was destroyed by fire.

Just west of Tower, MN, Greenwood Township includes the western portion of Lake Vermillion. Eight agencies responded to the emergency call. The Sheriff’s Office and State Fire Marshal are investigating the source of the explosion.
