Minnesota health officials believe the restaurant received tainted food, according to the Alexandria Echo Press. They have been working to try and determine which food item may be responsible.
A health inspector who has worked with the restaurant for years told the paper that it has never received any serious violations or been the subject of any customer complaints. After the illnesses were reported, the restaurant was thoroughly cleaned.
A Listeria infection can take as long as 70 days after exposure to develop. Symptoms include high fever, stiff neck, muscle aches, confusion and loss of balance.
