Ground beef and ground beef patties recalled for E. coli were sold at Food City, Giant Eagle, Lowe’s, Target, Walmart, Grocery Outlet and Market District stores, according to a retail distribution list published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Drug Administration’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
The recalled ground beef was produced by Lakeside Refrigerated Services of Swedesboro, N.J. and sold under the brand names Marketside Butcher, Thomas Farms and Value Pack. The problem was discovered by USDA-FSIS when a sample of Lakeside ground beef tested positive for E. coli O157:H7 during routine testing.
On June 13, 2020, Lakeside issued a recall for the ground beef products which were produced on June 1, 2020, but USDA-FSIS is concerned that some consumers may have the recalled items in their freezers.
The recall includes the following ground beef products which all bear the establishment number “EST. 46841” inside the USDA mark of inspection:

Symptoms of an E. coli infection usually develop within three days of exposure and include abdominal cramps and diarrhea that can be bloody. Anyone who ate the recalled ground beef and developed these symptoms should see a doctor.
