A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was struck by a pick-up truck while walking to his school bus in west St. Paul. The incident happened on Thursday morning at about 6:30 A.M. Ramaden Waliye was crossing S. Robert Street at Wood Street in a crosswalk when the pick-up driver struck the boy. The school bus was stopped with flashing lights and a stop arm out. The boy was crossing the street with his two siblings, who were not injured.

The school bus, operated by Pride Transportation Services, was headed north on Robert St when it stopped to pick-up students on the way to St. Paul’s Higher Ground Academy. The pick-up driver, a 60-year-old man, was headed south on Robert St when the crash happened.
