A Salmonella outbreak linked to Stater Bros. ground beef has sickened 11 people in seven states and one person has died, according to the latest information from the Centers for Disease Contol and Prevention (CDC). Ground beef produced by Central Valley Meat Co. Inc. of Hanford, CA and sold under the Stater Bros. brand name at Stater Bros. stores in California has been recalled.

The people sickened in this outbreak range in age from 39 -74 years old. The case total reported from each state is: California (2), Colorado (3), Iowa (1), Kansas (2), Oklahoma (1), Texas (1) and Washington (1). The fatality occurred in California.
Stater Bros. Ground Beef Recall
The Stater Bros. ground beef recall includes products sold in three different sizes of “chub” packages with the Use By date 08-14-19 and the establishment number “EST. 6063A” next to the lot number inside the USDA mark of inspection.
- 1-lb. chub packages of “STATER BROS. 100% PURE GROUND BEEF 96% LEAN 4% FAT.” Lot code 2049 on the retail label, lot code1920 on the case label.
- 2-lb. chub packages of “STATER BROS. 100% PURE GROUND BEEF 93% LEAN 7% FAT.” Lot code 2049 on the retail label, lot code19204 on the case label.
- 20-lb. cases containing “STATER BROS 93/7 Ground Beef 10# Chub 10 Lb. Chubs/ 2 Count.” Lot code 19204 on the case label.
