A 33-year-old man from Woodbury, MN died in a chain-reaction crash caused by a Freightliner semi-trailer truck this morning. Andrew S. Russ was killed in the crash that happened shortly before 7:00 A.M. on westbound I-94 at Radio Drive. As traffic began to slow down during morning rush hour, the semi rear-ended Russ’ car, pushing it into the back of an SUV, which then rear-ended another. Shane T. Michaels, a 28-year-old man from Marinette, WI, was driving the semi that caused the crash. Other drivers involved in the crash were Colene B. Erickson, 51 and Bonnie B. Rizzardi, 39, both of Woodbury. Erickson was not injured and Rizzardi was taken to Regions Hospital.

Truck Driver Negligence Causes Fatal Accidents
Just within the past few months, negligent truck drivers have caused a series of chain-reaction crashes across the country. The majority of these accidents are the result of speeding and distracted driving. Injured people and families can file a truck accident lawsuit if the accident was caused by someone else’s negligence. If the accident killed your loved one, you can often file a wrongful death lawsuit against the negligent party that caused their death. Our truck accident law firm recently obtained a $6 million recovery on behalf of a family in a wrongful death lawsuit.
