A total of 141 illnesses have been reported among fairgoers most of whom were in some proximity to a display of hot tubs inside the Davis Event Center on the fairgrounds. Three people have died.
Legionnaires’ disease is transmitted when water vapor containing Legionella bacteria is inhaled. It is not spread through person-to-person contact. Legionella grows best in warm water. Hot tubs that are not properly cleaned are common source of Legionnaires’ disease.
The Legionnaires’ disease attorneys at Pritzker Hageman have two decades of experience representing people who have been sickened by Legionella bacteria and families who have suffered the wrongful death of a loved one.
