A major hard-boiled egg Listeria recall has affected retail and foodservice products nationwide. These eggs have been linked to a Listeria outbreak that includes illnesses and a fatality. The recalled items include hard-boiled eggs sold under a variety of brand names and salads containing eggs sold at grocery store deli counters, restaurants and other foodservice operations.
Brand names included in the recall are: 7 Select, Almark, Best Choice, CMI, Dairy Fresh, Deb-El, Egglands Best, Everyday Essentials, Farmers Henhouse, Food Club, Fresh Thyme, Giant Egle, Great Day, Great Value, Inspired Organics, Kirkland Signature, LDL, Lucerne, Member’s Mark, Naturally Better, Nellie’s, O Organics, Peckish, Pete and Gerry’s, Rainbow Farms, Rembrandt Foods, Shoprite, Simple Truth Organics, Sunshine, Vital Farms and Wild Harvest. Products can have “Best If Used By Dates” through March 2, 2020
The recall now includes all conventional and organic eggs produced at the Almark Foods facility in Gainesville, GA where outbreak investigators found the outbreak strain in samples they collected there. Consumers who have purchased whole or diced hard-boiled eggs with these brand names should check the Almark Foods hard-boiled egg recall information carefully as Listeria can cause serious illnesses and death.

Listeria poses a heightened risk for pregnant women who can suffer a miscarriage, stillbirth or premature delivery of an infected newborn. Symptoms of an infection include: headache, stiff neck, fever, muscle aches and balance issues. These symptoms can take as long as 10 weeks to develop.
