Case totals from the seven states are:
- Connecticut 1
- Florida 4
- Michigan 1
- Missouri 1
- New Jersey 2
- New York 9
- Pennsylvania 3
In interviews with health officials, the people who were sickened in this outbreak between March 18, 2019, and June 18, 2019, reported eating ground bison before they became ill. These case-patients, who range in age from 6 to 79 years old, said they ate ground bison at restaurants and at home.
Health officials have not released the names of the restaurants that served the contaminated bison, but that is not a requirement before a lawsuit to be filed.
