Four people have been hospitalized. The trays, which contain broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip were sold at Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond’s, Sentry, Potash, Meehan’s, Country Market, FoodMax Supermarket, and Peapod stores. They have been removed from all store locations but health officials are advising consumers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan to check to see if they have already purchased the trays and to throw them out if they have.

Cyclospora is a parasite associated with sub-tropical climates. Washing usually does not remove the parasite. Previous outbreaks have been linked to imported produce. Symptoms of infection typically include watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, loss of appetite and weight loss. These symptoms usually develop within two to 14 days of exposure and can last as long as 70 days if not treated.
At least 20 Minnesotans are part of this outbreak. Those sickened purchased Del Monte vegetable trays at various Kwik Trip locations around the state.
