Can I Sue for a Fatal Logging Truck Crash?
Yes, when a loved one is killed by a logging truck, the spouse and “next of kin” can often take action against the driver of the logging truck and their employer if the truck driver was at-fault. Taking legal action is usually the best way to hold an at-fault trucker and their employer responsible if they caused an accident.
There are often also a number of other parties that may be legally responsible for the crash, including:
- the owner of the tractor
- the owner of the trailer
- the owner of the logs
- the employer of the truck driver
- a manufacturer of any vehicle or equipment on the truck
- a maintenance company that serviced the truck.

Truck Accident FAQ
Independent Investigation of a Log Truck Crash
The truck crash lawyers at Pritzker Hageman independently investigate accidents to gather evidence and build a winning case. Some of the questions that Pritzker Hageman lawyers seek to answer are:
- Was the at-fault driver speeding?
- Was he distracted or tired?
- Was he qualified to be driving a tractor-trailer loaded with logs?
- Did he break any traffic laws?
- Was the weight of the logs balanced in the trailer?
- Was there a mechanical failure?
Pursuing litigation after a logging truck crash lets the family send a message to the negligent driver and logging company that they are responsible for the consequences of unsafe driving that left their loved ones dead.
