A member of a work crew was severely injured in a house explosion in Manassas, VA on February 28. The home, located in the 11600 block of Kahns Road, was under construction and it is believed that the 6:50 a.m. explosion occurred when the man showed up for work and turned on the propane furnace. Every year, thousands of people are injured in heating-related explosions, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission. Treatment of these injuries, which often requires specialized care in burn units, costs hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
Explosion injuries include burns from the heat of the blast or the resulting fire, smoke inhalation, traumatic brain injury, ruptured eardrums, heart of liver injury, crush injuries and blast lung, a condition where lung tissue is torn or ruptured from the intense pressure of the initial blast wave.
If you or a loved one was injured in an explosion that was caused by a defective product or the negligence of another, a lawyer with experience in explosion lawsuits can help you.
Attorneys Fred Pritzker and Eric Hageman recently won $10 million for a man who suffered 3rd-degree burns on over 50 percent of his body.
