A pickup truck driver who fatally hit a pedestrian in a Wright County intersection remains jailed on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). That driver, Kent C. Mattson, 55, was arrested Friday, January 13, 2017, after he ran over Richard J. Jacobs, a 59-year-old man from Waconia, Minnesota. Mr. Jacobs was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, but died from his injuries.
The pickup truck driver is being charged with criminal vehicular homicide.
Pedestrian Killed in Fridley
A pedestrian was killed as he walked along the northbound lanes of University Avenue in Fridley today, January 16, 2017, at about 5:45 a.m. The driver who hit the pedestrian is cooperating with the investigation, according to authorities.
