Share the Road to Prevent Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcycles have just as much right to be on the road as cars and trucks. But unfortunately, drivers of the larger vehicles often do not share the road as they are required to, and accidents and serious injuries are the result. Distracted driving, talking on a cell phone, or simply failing to see the motorcycle are causes of many of these crashes.
Failure to Yield Right-of-Way
Under Minnesota law, the driver of a vehicle turning left in an intersection must yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. In this accident, the Silverado was turning left while the motorcycle was approaching from the opposite direction.
Victims of accidents involving a motorcycle and a car or truck may be seriously injured. These crashes are severe simply because of the disproportionate weight and size differences between the vehicles. It is your legal right to seek compensation after these types of accidents.
