A 22-year-old Iowa man was tragically killed in an accident with a semi in Warren County, Iowa on March 7, 2016. The accident happened at 9:00 p.m. just north of Indianola.
Iowa State Patrol Preliminary Report
The state patrol said that a semi was northbound on Highway 65/69 and was making a U-turn into southbound lanes using a crossover. The trailer of the semi was sticking out into northbound lanes when a pickup truck hit it.
Officers say that the driver of the pickup truck was not able to see the trailer before the accident. The truck went under the trailer and was wedged there. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was not injured in the crash. Officials are investigating whether charges should be filed in this accident.
Truck drivers and trucking companies need to put safety before speed.
