Our law firm will be filing a lawsuit against Citrus Systems, Inc. on October 12, 2016. Contact us. (Update: we are representing over a dozen people sickened in this outbreak, and there is still time to contact us about your lawsuit.)
Our law firm has been contacted for help getting compensation for Legionnaires’ disease associated with living or working in Hopkins, Minnesota. Our law firm, located in Minneapolis, has won multimillion-dollar settlements for people sickened in Legionnaires’ disease outbreaks throughout the United States. We are providing free lawsuit consultations to people sickened in this outbreak and their families. We are also helping people who suspect they are part of the outbreak.
Finding the source of the outbreak is critical to getting compensation for those sickened. Because Legionnaires’ disease, a form of pneumonia, is contracted by breathing in water contaminated with Legionella bacterium, the investigation of the outbreak is focused on testing water from various buildings for Legionella. Test results should be available soon. Our Legionniares’ disease lawyers are confident that the testing of water supplies at businesses in Hopkins will lead to the source.
“Legionella isolates from pneumonia patients will be evaluated against any found in Hopkins water systems to determine the source or sources of the outbreak. If the same strain of Legionella that sickened patients is found in a business’s water supply, we will then need to look at how and why that contamination happened.”
Attorneys Fred Pritzker and Eric Hageman are lead lawyers for our Legionnaires’ disease lawsuits.

How Much is My Case Worth?
To determine how much your case is worth, your attorney will need to look at several factors, including (but not limited to) the following:
- the severity of your illness
- your age and occupation
- how the Legionnaires disease pneumonia affected your ability to enjoy life
- how the illness affected your family.
In general, compensation includes amounts for pain and suffering, hospital and other medical bills (including anticipated future expenses), cost of care, lost income, and other damages.
Complications of this severe form of pneumonia include respiratory failure, sepsis, kidney failure, brain damage and death.
What if I Get Sick at Work?
If your illness was caused by contaminated water in a building that was not owned by your employer, you may have a personal injury claim against the owner of that building. For example, if you work for Company A and deliver products to Company B, you may have a claim. If the source is the building where you work, your lawyer will need to find out who owns that building and what company is responsible for maintaining the water system. In some cases, more than one company may be legally responsible, meaning both can be sued for money damages. You should talk to your lawyer about this.
