Twenty-three states received Dole salad mixes that have now been recalled by the manufacturer as part of a state and federal investigation of a deadly outbreak of listeriosis. All salad mixes in this recall were produced at the Dole plant in Springfield, Ohio.
Update. As of February 25, 2016, the number of ill people reported from each state is as follows: Connecticut (1), Indiana (1), Massachusetts (1), Michigan (4), Missouri (2), New Jersey (1), New York (5), Ohio (2), and Pennsylvania (1).
Contact our law firm about a Listeria lawsuit if you or a loved one ate Dole bagged salad and fell ill with an infection from the pathogen Listeria monocytogenes. Past Listeria clients of our firm, PritzkerOlsen, have received millions of dollars in compensation for harm that landed them in the hospital. We have represented couples who have experienced pregnancy loss, families who have experienced the death of a loved one, individuals who have been paralyzed and others who have suffered greatly from toxic consequences of listeriosis. We also have experience suing Dole for foodborne illness. We represented individuals sickened by E. coli in Dole spinach.
Any new Dole Listeria lawsuit would be rooted in scientific evidence gathered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and various state health agencies. In addition, our attorneys investigate to find additional facts, including the company response and reaction time as the outbreak unfolded. Litigation holds companies responsible for pain and loss caused by contaminated food that has no place in the supply chain. Could some people have been spared from this outbreak? What food safety systems failed at Dole and why?
