Two Fire Deaths Probed in Big Flats, Wisconsin

Investigation continues into the explosion and fire in the Township of Big Flats, Wisconsin, that caused two deaths on Friday, July 31. In early afternoon, a 911 caller reported explosions and a structure fire  on East Trout Valley Road.  According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the mobile home was engulfed in flames. The two people who were found dead at the scene have not yet been named by the sheriff’s office.

With two fire deaths involved, Sheriff Sam Wollin said the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation Arson Bureau has joined the investigation.

Fire lawsuit attorney Fred Pritzker has recovered millions of dollars for clients in fire death cases. If someone dies in a fire, the next of kin (through a court-appointed trustee) can sue the person or corporation responsible for the injuries. This is called a wrongful death lawsuit.

The purpose of a wrongful death lawsuit is to compensate the family and to hold all wrongdoers accountable.  A person or company responsible for a fatal explosion or fire should pay for the expenses and losses associated with the deaths. If evidence shows the defendant showed deliberate disregard for the right or safety of others, the family can seek punitive damages above and beyond general compensation.
