A woman from New Prague, Minnesota, was tragically killed yesterday, December 15, 2015, in Le Sueur County. Our thoughts are with the family.
She was driving a Ford Focus southbound on Highway 13 when she stopped for a Tri-City United school bus (TCU bus 6) that was loading students, red lights flashing. While stopped at the intersection of Highway 13 and 380th Street, she was hit from behind by a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, also going southbound on Highway 13. The impact pushed her car into the side of the school bus, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Montgomery Fire and Police, the Le Sueur County Sheriff and Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene. The crash investigation is ongoing.
Lieutenant Casey Meagher with the Minnesota State Patrol told News12, “The cause of the crash as far as whether there was any distractions or things that caused this crash are still under investigation. We’re not sure as to what the reasons were.”
