A tragic 3-semi crash on I-94 near Eau Claire, Wisconsin, killed one truck driver and injured 2 others, one critically. Those injured were rushed to Mayo Health System in Eau Claire.
Mechanical Problem May be Crash Cause
A westbound semi truck traveling in the right lane of I-94 slowed down due to mechanical problems near Milepost 75. A second semi traveling in the same lane, rear ended the first semi. A third semi in the same lane hit the back of the second semi and jack-knifed into the median. This is preliminary information gathered by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The driver of the second semi was killed. The drivers of the first and third trucks were transported to Mayo Health System in Eau Claire, WI.
This kind of accident requires a thorough inspection of the vehicles to look for defective parts and evidence of poor maintenance. Only when all of the evidence is gathered and analyzed will we know the cause of the accident. It may be that there was more than one.
