Tragic Wrongful Death in Minnesota Under Investigation
A Buick Park Avenue was traveling eastbound on Highway 27 in Morrison County when a GMC Sierra pickup traveling westbound crossed the centerline in front of the Buick. The driver of the Buick swerved to the right to try avoid a collision, but the truck hit the car head-on.
The driver of the Buick died at the scene. The driver of the pickup was transported to the hospital.
There can be more to a head-on crash than meets the eye. In one of our Minnesota wrongful death cases, the vehicle that crossed the centerline had been serviced the month before and the driver said she heard a noise right before she lost control. Attorney Eric Hageman, representing the family with the wrongful death claim, found evidence that the vehicle had been improperly serviced. This allowed the family to also sue the company that serviced the vehicle.
With every fatal accident it is important to analyze every piece of evidence to see if it leads to finding another liable [legally responsible] party. Because of insurance policy accident compensation limitations, the family will benefit by being able to take legal action against as many parties [people and companies] as possible.
