A serious accident in Ohio was caused by an out-of-control armored car. The armored car spun and crossed the center line of SR 87 in Newbury, Ohio, and hit a dump truck.
The driver and passenger of the dump truck were critically injured and transported to Hillcrest Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the driver of the armored car lost control because of the wet road.
“Our experience is that driver negligence is often a factor in accidents involving wet roads,” said Fred Pritzker, a truck accident lawyer with a national practice. Our clients have benefited from Fred’s experience conducting independent investigations. He was recently named an “Attorney of the Year” for getting a $2 million jury verdict for a family in a case where the initial police report stated the commercial truck driver was not at fault.
The dump truck was forced off the roadway, where it leaked diesel fuel, causing a fire.
“The accident investigation should determine whether fuel system breaches due to the force of the impact were caused, even in part, by a defective fuel tank, fuel line or other part,” said Fred.
