The following are some of the recently reported semi truck accidents:
- This morning, a Freightliner semi trailer rear-ended a car, causing critical injuries. The semi trailer was traveling eastbound on I94 in Stearns County, MN, when it hit the car, a Pontiac Grand Prix, traveling in the same lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The driver of the car, from Eau Claire, WI, was critically injured. The driver of the semi, Scotty VanWagner, of Wyoming, MN had no apparent injuries.
- Two people were killed by a semi truck Saturday morning on Highway 17 in Grant County, Washington. The semi driver was turning left onto Northlake Road when he clipped the front end of a car, a 1958 Ford Thunderbird, according to Washington State Troopers. The two passengers in the Thunderbird were killed in the crash, which happened just after 9:00am at Northlake Road about four miles north of Moses Lake. The investigation will determine if the semi driver failed to yield the right of way.
- A man was hit and killed by a semi truck in Montgomery County, Indiana, when he got out of a car to switch drivers. The driver parked the car, a blue 2006 Chevrolet Impala, in the emergency lane to change drivers. Another man got out of the back left passenger door to trade places with Jensen. At the same time the semi-trailer driver reached down to pick up a lens from his glasses that had fallen out. He lost control, drifted off the right side of the roadway and struck the Impala, according to the Indiana State Police. The accident occurred just after 7:45 Saturday morning, on I-74 east near the 31-mile marker in Montgomery County.
- A semi-truck and a Metro Bus collide in Lower Price Hill (Cincinnati) on Thursday night, injuring some passengers. The semi slammed into the bus at West Eighth Street at State just before 5 p.m. We’re told four or five people are injured.
