A bus and a Toyota Corolla collided in south Atlanta yesterday evening. The driver of the car is in critical condition and was airlifted to airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, and his passenger suffered bodily injury and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Four of the bus passengers were also transported to Grady Memorial.
The bus-car crash happened on Buffington Road at Roosevelt Highway in East Point. According to Fulton County Police, the bus was heading south on Roosevelt Highway when it tried to turn left onto Buffington Road in front of the Toyota Corolla, which was heading northbound. The bus struck the car, almost head-on.
The preliminary investigation has yielded evidence sufficient to charge the bus driver, according to Fulton County officials.
