Fatal Accident Takes Life of Watson, Minnesota, Woman

A fatal accident in Chippewa County, MN on Highway 29 north of Montevideo, tragically took the life of a Watson, Minnesota, woman.  A Ford Ranger (V1) was westbound on County 13 when it entered the intersection with 29 and broadsided a southbound GMC Sierra (V2).  A passenger in V1 died, and the two drivers and the passenger in V2, a young child, were seriously injured.

Broadside accidents are generally caused by a driver who failed to yield the right of way. Factors contributing to these accidents are often speed, alcohol consumption and distracted driving. If an at-fault driver caused the accident, even in part, a bar or restaurant may be liable for the accident, along with the driver. This is called a dram shop claim.

If the driver of V1 was at fault for the accident, the family of his passenger has the legal right to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver and any other party legally responsible for the crash.
