You can contact Fred for a free consultation here about a wrongful death lawsuit against NECC and others. Fred and his team have found several other companies that may be liable for personal injury and wrongful death resulting from the tainted NECC injections. This is important because NECC will most likely file for bankruptcy in the near future.
The fungal meningitis outbreak is still evolving:
- In the last several days, several fungal meningitis patients have been re-hospitalized with another infection, this one an epidural abscess, a life threatening infection between the bones of the spine and the meninges (the membrane covering the spine);
- Exserohilum rostratum, the fungus causing most of the cases of fungal meningitis has a very long incubation period, possibly over 100 days;
- Other medications compounded by NECC have caused fungal infections (meningitis and other), including triamcinolone acetonide and cardioplegic solution;
- Bacteria have been found in additional NECC medications, specifically several Bacillus species and closely related bacterial organisms in unopened vials of betamethasone and cardioplegia solution that were distributed and later recalled by NECC on October 6, 2012; and
- An FDA preliminary report of the agency’s inspections of the NECC facility in Framingham, MA found evidence of bacterial contamination, mold growth and filthy conditions in areas of the plant where “sterile” medications were compounded.
Our meningitis lawyers (they have won meningitis cases) believe NECC medications will cause additional deaths before the outbreak is over.
