Attorneys Fred Pritzker and David Szerlag have filed DePuy hip lawsuits in Minnesota (and throughout the United States) seeking money damages for people like you whose hip replacement implants were defective. For most of our clients, blood tests revealed high levels of metal, particularly cobalt and chromium. This metal poisoning caused:
- tissue necrosis (death)
- loosening of the hip implant
- pain
- problems walking (gait issues)
- swelling.
Because of one or more of the above, our clients had to have hip revision surgery to remove and replace the defective DePuy ASR XL Acetabular Hip Replacement System. They hired our lead attorneys for these cases, Fred Pritzker and David Szerlag to obtain compensation for them, and you can, too. Hip Lawsuits Linked to DePuy ASR Hip Recall
When the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular Hip Replacement System was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2005, the device bypassed standard pre-market approval testing because it was grandfathered in as a device similar to previously approved devices. This may have saved DePuy and J&J time and money, but thousands of people have suffered because of this decision to bypass testing.
On Aug. 26, 2010, DePuy Orthopedics issued a DePuy ASR hip recall because of anticipated failure rates of 13 percent. Since then, medical researchers have found evidence that the failure rate may be much higher.
