Marketside Celery Listeria Recall

Marketside celery sticks sold at Walmart stores has been recalled for Listeria. Consumers who bought this celery shouldn’t eat it as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

On April 10, Duda Farm Fresh Foods Inc. of Oxnard, CA, issued a recall for one lot of washed, ready-to-eat celery sticks. At the time of the recall, the company was not aware of any reported illnesses.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture discovered the potential contamination when one sample collected from a Georgia store tested positive for Listeria.
