Blue Ridge Beef Kitten Mix has been recalled for Salmonella after an animal illness was reported. Customers who have purchased this product should not use it. Contaminated pet food can cause illness in pets that eat it and humans who handle it.
Blue Ridge Beef issued the recall on January 3 after Massachusetts health officials found Salmonella in a product sample following the consumer complaint. The recall includes 1,350 pounds of product sold in 2-lb logs or chubs between July 18, 2024, to July 26, 2024.

Symptoms of a Salmonella Infection
Humans with a Salmonella infection may experience the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, fever, and diarrhea that can be bloody. In pets, Salmonella can cause lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets may experience reduced appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans.
