Listeria Recall for Brie, Camembert, and Other Soft Cheeses

A soft cheese Listeria recall includes La Bonne Vie, Market Basket, Emporium Selection, Supreme, and other brands. Consumers who have purchased these cheeses should not eat them as Listeria can cause severe illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

On November 2, Savencia Cheese USA recalled brie, camembert, and other soft cheeses with the “best by” date 12/24/2024. It includes:

  • La Bonne Vie Brie, 6/8oz, item number 10820581678538
  • La Bonne Vie Camembert, 6/8oz, item number 10820581678613
  • 12/8oz Industrial Brie, item number 10077901005226
  • Market Basket Brie 6/8oz, item number 10049705666309

Listeria Symptoms

Symptoms of a Listeria infection often appear within 24 hours of exposure. But sometimes they can take as long as 70 days to develop. They include:

  • High fever
  • Severe headache
  • Stiff neck
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea

Pregnant women can suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth even if they only experience mild flu-like symptoms.
