Enoki mushrooms sold at West Virginia stores have been recalled for Listeria. On November 1, HH Fresh Trading Corp. of California issued a recall for the enoki mushrooms after routine tests performed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) were positive for Listeria.
Consumers who have purchased the mushrooms should not eat them as Listeria can cause severe illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.
At the time of the recall, the company was unaware of any reported illnesses.
