A Salmonella recall for Al Fez tahini includes products distributed nationwide since May 2023. Consumers who have this product at home should not use it. AB World Foods US Inc. of Oakbrook Terrace, IL, issued the recall after the company found Salmonella in a product during routine testing.

  • UPC 711464506778
  • BEST BEFORE of 2024 JL 11 or later, 2024 SE 09, 2025 MR 27, “2025 AL 04
  • Lot Numbers: 3031, 3080, 3270, and 3297
  • BEST BEFORE: 2024 JL 31; 2024 SE 09; 2025 MR 27, and 2025 AL 04

Symptoms of a Salmonella Infection

Symptoms of a Salmonella infection usually develop within six to 72 hours of exposure and last about a week. They include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea that can be bloody. In some cases, when the infection enters the bloodstream, severe illness requiring hospitalization is necessary. Complications include arterial infections, infected aneurysms, and arthritis.
