ALDI, Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread Salmonella Recall [Update]

Cream cheese produced by Schreiber Foods and sold under a variety of brand names is under a Salmonella recall. The recall includes a variety of cream cheese products sold under the following brand names: Piggly Wiggly, Duncan, Dutch Farms, Happy Farms, Schnuck, Our Family, Fareway, Essential Everyday, and Schreiber Foods.

ALDI and Hy-Vee cream cheese spread and some Hy-Vee snacks containing it have been recalled for Salmonella. Hy-Vee shippers should check recall information carefully as Salmonella can cause severe illness and death.

Hy-Vee, Inc., based in West Des Moines, Iowa, issued the recall on May 6, 2024, after being notified by a third-party manufacturer of the problem. The affected products were distributed to Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drugstore, and Dollar Fresh Market locations – and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh convenience stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

ALDI issued the recall on May 9, 2024, in cooperation with Schreiber Foods Inc. The recalled products were sold at select ALDI stores in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread Salmonella Recall

The Hy-Vee cream cheese spread Salmonella recall includes Hy-Vee brand cream cheese spread, whipped cream cheese spread, and cookies and cream mix, with “best by” dates ranging from August 7, 2024, to December 5, 2024.
