One person died and four others were injured in an electrocution accident at Harbourside Place shopping center in Jupiter, Florida. According to the Jupiter Police Department, a child started drowning in the fountain around 3:30 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2023. When bystanders stepped in to rescue the child, multiple people received an electric shock. Three children were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where they are still recovering from their electrocution injuries. Two adults were transported to Jupiter Medical Center where sadly, one of the electrocution victims died.
Florida Power and Light shut off power to the area. The electrocution accident is under investigation by the Jupiter Police Department, the Town of Jupiter Building Department, Harbourside Place, and Florida Power and Light.
