Loki Fish Company of Seattle is recalling 4-oz plastic packages of Keta Salmon Lox for potential Listeria contamination. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

The recalled salmon was packaged on a coated board inside 4-oz plastic packages labeled as Wild Keta Lox, Loki Fish Co., Seattle, WA, and sold in Washington and Oregon. There are no “best by” dates on the package. In Oregon, it was distributed through Cherry Sprout Produce of Portland, OR. In Seattle, it was sold at Central Co-op and Pacific Coast Harvest in Seattle and at the University District and West Seattle Farmers Markets.
UPDATE August 27, 2021 – This recall was issued because Loki products were processed at Felix Custom Smoking in Monroe, Washington, where the FDA found Listeria during an inspection but Felix would not issue a recall.
Symptoms of a Listeria infection include high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, other muscle stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions. These symptoms usually develop within 14 days of eating contaminated food but can take as long as 10 weeks to appear.
