One person from Minnesota is part of the Salmonella Javiana outbreak linked to a fruit mix from Tailor Cut Produce. The patient was in New York when exposed to the contaminated fruit, according to federal health officials.

The New Brunswick, NJ company has issued a recall for cut honeydew, cut cantaloupe, cut pineapple and a Fruit Luau containing a mixture of all three and grapes. State health officials in Pennsylvania say they are investigating 33 Salmonella illnesses at four healthcare facilities in southeastern Pennsylvania, two hospitals and two long-term care facilities.
So far, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that 11 people who ate this fruit, 10 in Pennsylvania and one in Minnesota, are part of this outbreak. These patients include patients at hospitals, residents at nursing homes and guests at hotels.
Symptoms of a Salmonella infection, called salmonellosis, include fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhea that is sometimes bloody. Some people, including those who are elderly, frail and those who have compromised immune systems, are at elevated risk of developing more serious cases of salmonellosis and more severe complications associated with these infections.
