A semi-driver caused a crash that injured three people on I-894, just hours after Wisconsin State Patrol pulled him from service. The crash happened at about 4:00 PM on southbound I-894 at Hale Interchange near Greenfield, WI. A Freightliner semi-truck caused the crash when it rear-ended two cars slowing down for traffic. The crash injured three people, including a 12-year-old girl and her mother. The semi-driver, Jamie J. Mantel, had been driving under the authority of QSP Utility in Waterford, WI. Earlier that morning, a state inspector pulled Mantel from service for driving without the required Class-A commercial driver’s license. Authorities arrested Mantel for driving without a commercial driver’s license and operating while under an out-of-service order.
