A box truck caused a multi-vehicle crash on I-90 that killed a Minnesota woman near Brandon, SD. Brooke Thompson (22) of Luverne, MN died in the collision on Tuesday, July 23rd. The state highway patrol says that the collision happened when a box truck crashed into traffic that was at a standstill due to road construction. The truck first struck a GMC Terrain driven by Melissa Edmundson (59), then rear-ended a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Ms. Thompson, and pushed another vehicle into the grass median. Ms. Thompson died at the scene. Ms. Edmundson and a passenger in the box truck, Anell Knudson (34), suffered injuries and were taken to a Sioux Falls Hospital. Authorities say charges against the truck driver, Nicholas Floyd (34), are pending.
