The outbreak has sickened 144 people in Wisconsin, Minnesota Iowa and Michigan, according to the latest update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Six people have been hospitalized. Wisconsin has been hardest hit with 106 cases, Minnesota has reported 32, Iowa has four and Michigan has two.
Cyclospora is a parasite that causes food poisoning symptoms that can last 70 days if treatment is not successful. A recall has been issued for the Del Monte vegetable trays containing broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and dill dip which were sold in clear plastic clamshell containers.
Minnesota Del Monte Cyclospora Lawsuit
Pritzker Hageman filed a Cyclospora lawsuit on behalf of a Minnesota woman sickened in this outbreak on June 12, 2018. According to the lawsuit, she purchased a Del Monte vegetable tray for lunch at a Kwik Trip in St. Charles, Minnesota on May 26, 2018. A few days later, she began suffering the symptoms of a Cyclospora infection including severe diarrhea, fatigue and abdominal cramping. Her symptoms continued and worsened she saw a doctor and was diagnosed with cyclosporiasis. She was prescribed Bactrim, an antibiotic, to treat her infection continued to suffer symptoms and was unable to return to work.
Wisconsin Kwik Trip, Del Monte Cyclospora Lawsuit
On June 14, 2018, Pritzker Hageman filed a lawsuit against Kwiik Trip and Del Monte on behalf of a Wisconsin woman who had purchased and ate multiple Del Monte vegetable trays from a Kwik Trip in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She first began feeling sick on May 30, 2018, when she suffered nausea and stomach pain. The next day, she began to vomit and have diarrhea. When her symptoms persisted and worsened she saw a doctor who ran a battery of tests and was diagnosed with cyclosporiasis. The lawsuit seeks compensation for pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.
Del Monte, Kwik Trip Cyclospora Lawsuit in Wisconsin
Pritzker Hageman Cyclospora lawyers filed a lawsuit in Wisconsin against Del Monte and Kwik Trip on June 20, 2018 on behalf of a Wisconsin man. According to the lawsuit, he purchased two trays at a Kwik Trip store and developed symptoms of a Cyclospora infection a few days after eating the vegetables. He sought medical care after symptoms persisted and was diagnosed with a Cyclospora infection.
